Bill Baird is an Austin native based in Oakland who crafts some of the finest and oddest psychedelia of now. You might know Bill from his numerous self-released solo works or as {{{Sunset}}} or even his past group Sound Team. His latest, Diamond Eyepatch, was recorded entirely to tape and offers two distinct sonic halves. The first side is comprised of his particular brand of eccentric garage/pop; warped melodies, densely-layered compositions, driving percussion and plenty of ‘verb. The second side extends into more avant-garde experimentation. It moves from billowing guitar drone to self-sampled percussive pieces intended for 8 speakers and finally a Satie piano piece arranged by Bill. It’s a thrilling record and we couldn’t be happier to release his debut for Moon Glyph, Diamond Eyepatch.
