Recorded at The Thomas Center, Gainesville, Florida, in concert, on 4 May 1982. This recording was made differently, to achieve some concert hall effect. Except for one microphone fairly near the bass, the pickups were 2 B&K instrument microphones placed in front of and toward either side of the stage. The recorder was a Studer modified by Mark Levinson with Levinson preamps. There is no stereo "compartmentalized" separation as such bat an aural continuum. Prince's sound comes from slightly left of center, the piano from the right. In fact the apparent locus of each instrument is exactly as the audience heard it.
