The second Botanist release consists of two parts. The first part is the third Botanist album, "III: Doom in Bloom." The second part is "Allies," a compilation of songs made by friends of Botanist using drums recorded for the "III: Doom in Bloom" session [...] The one semi-exception is the work of Matrushka, whose "The Ejaculate on the Petals of the Femme Orchid" is sonic manipulation of tracks from "Vriesea," the fourth song on "III: Doom in Bloom."

The drums on "III: Doom in Bloom" and "Allies" were recorded in March 2008 at The Atomic Garden. All else done in The Verdant Realm from March-October, 2010. Allies tracks' non-drum recordings were done in The Atomic Garden, The Verdant Realm, and throughout the world.
