At the time Columbia had been celebrating Dr. Walter for a few years with numerous recordings and disks and this release is one of several audio documents they made with the Doctor's spoken word. Recorded in 1956 in anticipation of his 80th birthday as reflected in the choice of catalog number for the original release on vinyl: "BW 80".
