Album Info
Release Date: 1971Label: A&M Records
There are a number of errors evident on this rare promotional issue;Back of sleeve & on labels:
"Recorded in 1964".
"A Product of Quintus Productions Inc".
"With many thanks to Pete Frame"
"Printed in England"
"Drums: John French
Guitar: Alex Snouffer
Bass: Jerry Handley
Vocals / Harmonica: Captain Beefheart"
Corrected as follows:
1) The recordings were made at Sunset Sound during 1966, resulting from a '2 singles' contract with A&M. This is a compilation of those 2 singles. The date is not 1964.
2) Guitarist Snouffer performed as drummer in the recordings (on his white pearl 'Ludwigs') - Rich Hepner & Doug Moon played guitar.
3) John French did not play on these recordings. He joined the band prior to "Safe As Milk".
4) P.G. Blakely appears in promo & TV material, produced after these recordings.
