(In the comic book that inspired the lyrics, the hero 'won his wings' in the Feb issue).
[Bassist is not Handley. Zappa says it was a "surfband bassist". Pat Connolly most likely].
Track 2 from the KWST & WLIR 1975 radio broadcasts with 'Electricity' dialogue over a March 1965 'Studio Z' recording. .
Track 3 to 4 and 6 recorded 1966 & Track 5 recorded 1967 at The Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco, USA.
Track 5 should be titled "Old Folks Boogie" (Guitarist / drummer changed on this number).
7 and 8 are demos from 1965 or 1966 demos.
Tracks 9 and 11 to12 recorded 1967 at Original Sound, Hollywood, USA. (Mix onto 'Disneyland' label).
Track 10 recorded 1965 at Gold Star Studios, LA, USA. (9 to 12 are 2 Demo acetate recordings which led to "Safe As Milk" album).
Tracks 13 to 15 are from the 24th Jan 1968 "John Peel Sessions" on BBC radio's "Top Gear".

Tracks 19 to 23 are outtakes from the 1971 Spotlight Kid / Brown Star / Clear Spot sessions (also known as Spotlight Kid / Pompadour / Blues Sessions).
[Track 19 is "Seam Crooked Sam (2)", later retitled. The Brown Star project was aborted.
