In March of 1970, the Carpenters were guests on "Your Navy Presents," a radio show that was hosted by Sam Riddle. The program was pressed on vinyl and sent out to Military Radio Stations for broadcast. The Carpenters performed several songs in studio, while also being interviewed by the host. Their segment was then broadcast over the course of two weeks, with each week being pressed on one album. The two-week show was shipped as a double album set.First LP:
Side One - Opening with Sam Riddle; Let's Get Together; Navy Plug; Bacharach/David Medley; Chat with Karen and Richard; Love Is Surrender
Side Two - Opening with Sam Riddle; Can't Buy Me Love; Navy Plug; Baby It's You/Flat Baroque; Navy Plug/Interview; Help; Closing Comments
Second LP:
Ticket To Ride; Medley: Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing / All I Can Do; All Of My Life; Cinderella Rockefella; Mr. Guder; Sacre Bleu (aka I Fell In Love With You)
Presented by Sam Riddle for Navy Recruitment purposes, this 2 LP set features in-studio "live" performances, rather than the album cuts used on the later re-edited 1971 Sounds Like The Navy release (the version with the red and white label).
Includes interview with Richard & Karen and performances of Can't Buy Me Love, (Sacre Bleu) I Fell In Love & Cinderella Rockerfella. The only negative is there's a (badly) edited together (I'm guessing for time purposes) version of Ticket To Ride.
Love Is Surrender is a pre "Close To You" LP version which repeats the second verse and there is no trumpet in song mix.
