Record company Rádio Triunfo, Lda was founded in 1946 (Porto).
It opened its first industrial pressing plant in Portugal in 1947, initially with designation "Fábrica Portuguesa de Discos" (F.P.D.), and was later renamed to Fábrica Portuguesa de Discos Da Rádio Triunfo, Lda.. Started with Melodia (4) label producing Shellac records, changing later to Alvorada label. Official licensee of CBS, Inc. until 1980 and of WEA International Inc. until 1985.
