This release presents the complete original LP The World of Cecil Taylor (Candid 9006), which was the first album recorded by Cecil Taylor for the legendary Candid label. The group consists of the Cecil Taylor Trio, with Buell Neidlinger on bass and Dennis Charles on drums, plus Archie Sheep on tenor sax joining them on two songs. An extra song and two alternate takes from the same sessions have been added here as a bonus.

Recorded in New York, October 12 (tracks 2 & 4-6) & October 13 (tracks 1,3 & 7-8) 1960.

16 page booklet includes liner notes, credits, photographs and an excerpt from a Cecil Taylor interview. All Music Guide, Down Beat and Penguin Guide to Jazz reviews are also included.
