An album completely unknown in Europe, although it consists only of compositions by Udo Jürgens.
Charl van Heyningen studied in Munich at the Hochschule für Musik, where he became acquainted with the music of Udo Jürgens. At the age of 21 he made his debut in Mozart's "Magic Flute".
Meanwhile he has changed from the heavy opera music à la "Don Giovanni" or "Der Barbier von Sevilla" to slightly lighter musical fare like "Les Misérables", "Evita" or "Das Phantom der Oper".
This South African CD is very well arranged; the voice of Charl van Heyningen is also noted for its classical origin and the whole album stands out positively from other cover versions.
No judgement can be made about the statement or translation of the lyrics due to a lack of linguistic knowledge, in any case it sounds very melodic.
