It is a re-recording of the BBC radio play Journey to the Moon. The original, 18 episode, recording from 1953 was deleted (only surviving extract of the original recording is on CD7).

Operation Luna is 13 episodes long. The re recording omits the story from the first four episodes from the original 1953 recording, and episode 8 of the rerecording merges story from episodes 12 and 13 from Journey to the Moon (1953).
