Printed on back cover: This 2-CD set compiles all of the music recorded by the Charles Mingus Quintet with Max Roach as the guest star during a fruitful and extended evening in 1955. Most but not all of the material appeared on the LPs Charles Mingus - Mingus At The Bohemia and The Charles Mingus Quintet, Max Roach - The Charles Mingus Quintet + Max Roach, while the rest was issued on different compilations.

Tracks 1-1 to 2-6 recorded at The Cafe Bohemia, New York, December 18, 1955 (the real, correct date seems to be December 23)
Tracks 2-7 to 2-11 are bonus tracks, recorded live at Cafe Bohemia, New York, August 18, 1956 (tracks 2-7 to 2-9; again, this date isn't featured on Mingus sessionography sites!), in New York, March 12, 1957 (the correct date seems to be March 13!) and January 30, 1956.
