Taken from the note on the back of the album cover:

"This album is three years in the making. The concept emerged when I was finishing my last TRAD PLUS album, 'Interference,' which included some of my earliest attempts at sampling vinyl. I wanted to bring texture to the music, so I started digging through old, symphonic records for passages that I could stitch into the sounded, bringing a rich, analog sound that balanced the modern musical elements the I was already into. I started mixing all of that with my latest banjo compositions and I dug the sound and wanted to go deeper. The process wasn't necessarily that linear, but after some experimentation I devoted a vision of what I was looking for in the samples and how to make them a cohesive part of the music. Sometimes those symphonic pieces would come first and inspire my writing, and sometimes I'd look for them to complement a new composition that was already in the works. I filled out the tracks as I went along with custom synth sounds, beats, drum samples, strings and whatever else was in my studio, and a new sound started to come to life. Whereas 'Interference' was mainly focused on my non-banjo voices of expression, I wanted to bring all these production elements together on this new album and let the banjo take center stage. This is the latest chapter of TRAD PLUS: This is 'Trance Banjo.'
