"Recovery II" by McAllen, TX native Damien Duque aka City Of Dawn is dedicated to people on the autism spectrum. After the popularity of his previous album, City Of Dawn decided to do an additional version of that album which reflects a similar feel but with more peace and tranquility. This album tells Damien's story, within the music, of dealing with autism, and overcoming the traits of autism. He's still overcoming and recovering from emotional responses to having autism, such as anxiety and depression. Even with all the improvement he makes, autism is still a very hard and sometimes overwhelming condition to deal with. Damien and others with autism have their ups and downs, but they are still just like any other person. He is proud of having Aspergers (high functioning autism) and he loves to help people with autism. City Of Dawn wants to help them overcome their overwhelming emotional responses to living in society!
This album is meant to provide the listeners, especially those whom are diagnosed with autism, and/or suffering with depression or anxiety, with the feeling that they are not alone. That there's hope and positive outcomes in all of our lives. We can fight together as a whole living, loving society.
"Autism is not a disability, it's a different ability! Autism is not a disease, so do not try to cure us. Please try to understand us."
City Of Dawn wants you to listen to this album and spread his message everywhere. Upload this or any of his albums onto any social media outlets and tell your friends, family, and especially those that you may know whom have autism about his music! Let's help spread positive awareness for autism!
