Although it's not his first release, Controller 7's Left Handed Straw functions as a debut; a self-described "collection of soon to be lost beats and records." The album was constructed as a pastiche that compiled the artist's own production work and the world he was living in.

Composed using an Akai MPC2000, two Technics 1200s, vinyl records, and a 4-track, LHS is a continuous journey with a singular vision and sound. The end product is a collage of heavy drums, quirky interludes, street busker sax solos, wind chimes, and disconnected conversations.

This is the first time Left Handed Straw has been released in its entirety on vinyl. The Needle to the Groove pressing features the classic cover from the original release, but also has an updated back cover with an expansive gatefold sleeve that serves as a time capsule for the project, featuring the MPC2000 and floppy disks that the album was made on.
