This is the first number of a tape series released by Marvellous Tone. It's named "Tracker Series" after the basic and "primitive" method of electronic music composition used by the artists on the tracks, software like ReNoise or Fast Tracker running on Commodore.

"Tracers is the result of letting the mathematics of sound teach me how to create music. Tracking software lay bare a way to manipulate sound purely by numbers, instead of the classical
musician-centric route, here was a new way to interface with sound. I had just moved to an industrial neighborhood in Brooklyn, it was 1997 and finally everything lined up within a technological, creative, and chronological point of reference.
Being able to manipulate sounds through a numerically oriented interface opened me up into feeling confident about what I could actually create."
