The tracks were created on a Jam Man loop pedal, with fragments of a deeply diverse record collection combined via the mind of a master turntablist.In the latter weeks of 2018, Symatic travelled to Brighton to record Manipulate performing the tracks, and ended up joining him on the cut.
The raw scratch session was recorded one week, and a similar performance was done live in the Star pub in Ashford the week after, to a crowd of very confused skratch nerds and some even more confused regulars.
A guiding idea throughout was to try and let go of regular patterns that can lead to a stagnant flow while skratching, allowing the beats to free up new styles.
The tape was named S.I.N.K. 2, following up on the original S.I.N.K. cassette that Manipulate put out back in 2014, which was partly what inspired the whole Lordcore Tape series.
