A Lifetime in the making, "Breaking The Ice" is a peek into the groovy side of Iceland's music scene from the mid-'60s through the mid-'80s, ranging from funk to rock to disco to jazz to prog and even some children's records and hip-hop inspired tracks. Years of research went into this all-vinyl mix of more than 65 tracks sourced from my father's record collection, personal research, and lots of excavating with my cousin Sveimhugi back home in the motherland. If all you know about the rock is fairies and fermented shark take a journey to the center of the earth and get a little hipper.
