Tracks 8-10 were recorded live at The Roxy in Washington, D.C. Tracks 1-7 are studio recordings.

Track 1, listed as 'Rambunctious' and credited to Bill Doggett, is the 1952 tune 'Ram-Bunk-Shush', written by Henry Glover, Lucky Millinder, & Jimmy Mundy. Bill Doggett recorded the tune in 1957 for King Records, but did not compose it.

Track 2, listed as "Chessplayers", is Wayne Shorter's 1960 composition "The Chess Players", originally recorded for Art Blakey's album "The Big Beat".

Track 10, "Orange Blossom Medley", differs in song selection from the medley as recorded for the "Danny Gatton in Concert 9/9/94" album, though both feature "The Orange Blossom Special".
