Maitreya - The Future Buddha by David Parsons

Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 2002

Label: Celestial Harmonies

Notes by David Parsons:
This music combines recordings of chants that we collected in various temples in Bodh Gaya, Dharamsala, and New Zealand, with music. It is a sonic impression of Buddhism in the 21st century as it has grown in the West, where it seems to me that an amalgam of all sects is evolving. This music was originally inspired by, and composed for, the Art Gallery of New Wales, Sydney, Australia, exhibition "Buddha: Radiant Awakening" which opened in November 2001.
