“Eons Apart” is a song about desperation in a world strangled by the ghosts of its past, a world in its twilight which must necessarily perish but can’t yet figure out how to make itself disappear.

The etymology of utopia-“nowhere”- is widely known, but in this conceptualization an invalidation of its want is falsely imposed. The very notion becomes reduced to a childish, idealist fantasy choked out by the litmus test of the “real world”.

Yet, it is this pre-formed notion of its impossibility which must be done away with. Hope persists in the deepest recesses of our social scars. A spectre still looms. In contradiction we may find new forms-of-life.

Just as “Eons Apart” expresses frustration at waiting, it is at once also meant as a validation of utopian desire. The tools and material force to dismantle and create are already with us; we need only to find in one another our collective courage and strength.
