The first part of Declan's 'LONELY HOWLING MOONS' recordings, which ultimately ended up as the basis of his 2015 "GOLD BARS IN THE SUN" album.
One track was released, online only via Declan's website, each month of 2014...with the idea that a 7" would be released every two months with the most recent 2 tracks on it, but to make the singles more appealing as stand-alone items, he decided to put an unreleased song on the 'B' side of each 45. On this, the 'A' side is different to the 3:48 album version, and is only available on 7"...likewise the 'B' side is an exclusive non-album release.
The plan was to release a very ltd. numbered box set (100 only) of all six 7"s, on GOLD vinyl, at Christmas 2014, just prior to the album's release...and 100 copies of this 7" were pressed (on gold vinyl) in preparation for that.
On the front cover, instead of the beige sun-rays, and the mostly beige back cover (as on the red vinyl version), all the beige colour on this, has been printed in 'metallic' gold (looks great).
Also, the text on the labels has been changed to gold for this.
The 'LONELY HOWLING MOONS' 7" project was scuppered, however, by the failed promises of the pressing plant, who took way too long to deliver....and only two singles were released. This gold one lingered and was, effectively, not released.
100 hand-numbered copies pressed.
Comes with plain white inner sleeve.
