Label: Dream Disc Records

Philadelphia-based glitch-stomp producer Cameron Potter has served up his sophomore LP Cryocyl, the seventh installment to the Dream Disc catalogue: A six track narrative recorded live at Berks Warehouse late December 2015. The work chronicles the journey of a specimen thawed from cryo-sleep emerging into a reality unlike anything comprehensible to the mortal humanoid. Upon listening it becomes clear that Potter is exploring the fusion and intersection of technology and organic human life-forms, hinting at potentiality of these technologies to render immortal, highly-evolved, organic creatures. Potter’s compositional approach relies heavily on traditional equipment for sound creation: Korg ES2, Novation Bass Station, Korg KP3, and a Yamaha MG82cx, however retaining a live human element in its raw nature. There is fusion between man and machine in the structure of these tracks with their stomping four-on-the-floor throb, reminiscent of early 90's techno, yet decorated with loose raw sprinklings of sci-fi inspired samples.
