"My brain constantly connects everything to references to things that are important to me: music, anime, video games, all of it. This comes out in my writing and my beat choices heavily and when I set out to make this album I planned on using pastiche as a concept to refine this aspect of my music. This definitely happened but more than anything, Pastiche ended up being a very dense time capsule of the time in which I made it. It starts strong and angry, it gets incredibly depressing and broken, it deals with dysphoria and all sorts of stress, it gets help from other people on a few tracks, and it somehow survives and finds a resolution after everything."
