Rossini's William Tell Overture was recorded on January 16, 1959 in Detroit's Ford Auditorium; the Adam and Boieldieu overtures on November 19, 1960, in Cass Technical High School. The works by Offenbach, Gounod, Saint-Saëns, Meyerbeer, and de Lisle were recorded on April 3, 4, and 5, 1959, in Old Orchestra Hall in Detroit. Three Telefunken 201 microphones were used to record onto 3-track half-inch tape for all sessions. William Tell was first released on SR90203; the Adam and Boieldieu on SR90247; the Offenbach pieces on SR90215; and the various Marches on SR90211.

Only ORIGINAL MASTERS used for transfer to Compact Disc.
