"Half Fiction" and "The Usual Bad" are songs off the album Half Fiction on Kat Records. Both songs were recorded at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, FL by Steve Heritage in June '97. "Antiseptic" and "Fixing Rubble Building Us" were written on the road during late October, early November '97. "Antiseptic" was written in Dave's bedroom in Ithica. Bill used a brown vinyl suitcase for a drum. 30 minutes. "Fixing Rubble Building Us" was written in Kenyan, Ohio in Ian's bedroom. 20 minutes. Both songs were recorded at Sleepless Nights in Madison, Wisconsin with John Machnik. 11/10/97. Kinkos, Minneapolis, MN. 13 hours. 8 degrees outside. A t-shirt. A pair of corduroys. A paper thin zip-up OP sweatshirt from 1983. Everyone at home is sleeping and won't pick up the phone. Obnoxious screaming and crashing sounds through their answering machine. Might save me. Maybe
