Dorval & Devereaux is the debut collaboration between Crystal Dorval (White Poppy) and Beau Devereaux (Samantha Glass), hailing from British Columbia and Wisconsin respectively. These two lysergic-pop minds came together back in April 2012 and after sculpting the tunes for nearly a year, are ready to unveil their self-titled debut. The result is a transportive album; one of hazy, bubbling therapeutic pop, insistent drum machine loops and hypnotizing, mantra-like melodies. Varied and expansive for its thirty-seven minutes, tunes like “Hearing Wishes” and “Early Morning Rides” drift effortlessly into a lush, elevated ambience while others like “Maternal Moon” navigate through a nighttime fog of delirium, tiny lights flashing in the deep distance.
