"Cistern was recorded in a two million gallon underground reservoir in Fort Worden, a de-commissioned military base overlooking the entrance to the Puget Sound in Washington state. The space's resonance extended our instruments in a way similar to electronic processing. The acoustic properties of the cistern created new relationships between our sounds to which we applied the group's musical concept. This recording captures our first experiences in the sound-world of the cistern."
