The original intention of Mémoires’ auto-destructive cover was to mark the hands and surroundings of those who shared the values of its authors. Murmur, as a concept, has existed for half a decade; we’re continually grateful that people still find connection and enjoyment to this album daily, as we’ve become so far removed from the period in which it was conceived. These covers represent it’s permanence, they’re meant to destroy your belongings, to provide discomfort, and as both Jorn and Debord intended, to signify those whose connection to this album outweighs the irreversibly destructive nature of its existence; in our own perverse way, it’s a thank you."
