Drew Neumann's comments on Eye Spy: Declassified, Freedom Of Information Act:
Eye Spy: Ears Only Confidential was released in 1997 under a now-defunct record label that was a part of a truly fantastic animation company. The double CD contained edits and excerpts of the soundtrack to a cult animated TV series, and several cues were from an aborted attempt to make a video game from that series. Moods ebb and flow around several recurring leitmotifs, and there are quirky surprises sprinkled throughout. The original show was one of the most creatively satisfying things I've ever worked on, one where I had unprecedented creative freedom to explore musical soundscapes conducted by truly beautiful animation.
It's been available online in cheesy bit torrents and low resolution formats including ring tones for years without my permission. Fortunately, I have all of the original files and the tools to master these in high resolution the way I originally wanted them to be released. Without the size limitations of compact discs, I am now able to release cues in their full original length (some are roughly 2-8 minutes longer than they were on the album) and add a third volume of music--some from the series, some never heard before music that I wrote for Peter Chung's personal demo reel. One full episode was missing from the original release--it was the answer to the riddle in the liner notes and is on volume 3 as Chronos Multiverse.
You can purchase individual cues from volume 1 and 2 for about half the price of purchases at iTunes or Amazon. This is the only place you will be able to get the fully declassified composer's version of the album.
If you want the new extended Volumes 1 and 2, you can purchase those and I'll throw in Volume 3 for free as a bonus. Volume 3 cues are not going to be available for individual purchase, so it's the only way you'll get to hear them. You know you'll want it, even if it's just to find out what is different on the first 2 volumes. I'm not going to tell you what changed--that's still classified information. With the full album purchase you also get the album cover artwork as Peter Chung intended it.
