These recordings, originally released in the early 1950s, have been re-mastered from the original 78rpm discs. Certain frequencies have been boosted, and others cut, to improve the quality, but the intention has been to retain as much of the original as possible. They have not been synthetically 're-mixed'. The inevitable surface noise can be further reduced by turning down the treble control on your record player, with some loss of detail in the higher frequencies.
