Released mid-March 1977 (It was originally intended for Andy's birthday March 1, according to "45 Revolutions"), but white-label copies were in circulation before then: "In November of '76 they were at Decibel Studios cutting their first single, 'Outside View' coupled with 'You' - with me at the helm [...] this first single 'Outside View' might only have had a white label on it when we sent it out in December '76." (Dave Goodman: My Amazing Adventures With The Sex Pistols, page 89-90.)
Due to a printing error, Dave Goodman's assistant Kim Thraves was misspelt as Thraives on all versions.
