First of a series of four Edgar Allan Poe LPs ("Nightmare", "Terror", "Horror", and "Fright") that were heavily advertised in monster magazines during the early 1960's "Monster Kid" boom.
Initially released with different outer sleeve images under The Major Records, later versions were all released with a common outer sleeve image with the album title stamped on a white rectangle and the words "Spine Tingling Tales of the Macabre".
