Artists

Album Info

Release Date: 1986

Labels: Epic, Epic/Sony

Made in Japan

Promo release with normal blue Epic labels that both have the promotional symbols (見本盤) on them. There is also a white numbered "Sample (見本盤)" sticker on the back of the sleeve.

Comes with a single sided black and white insert which has information in Japanese and the A side lyrics in both Japanese and English.

Also includes 2 other inserts. One is a 30 x 21cm four page card promomotional only advert for "Absolute Beginners - The Musical" featuring images from the film and a track list of the songs in Japanese and English. The other is a poster (measuring 72 x 50cm) of "Absolute Beginners - The Musical" that contains on one side sections that cover the following.

Staff and Cast
Story
Making of Beginners
Bio
Style
Flashback '58 - '85

and on the other side is a "Beginners" London Map

It is folded down into a 18 x 5cm booklet with an "Absolute Beginners - The Musical" logo on one side and the track listings for the accompanying double LP soundtrack on the other. There is also a reference to the David Bowie single from the film David Bowie - Absolute Beginners.

Looking at the last but one image it looks as if the original release Various - Absolute Beginners - The Musical (Songs From The Original Motion Picture) was going to be a double LP (28VB-1080 & 28VC-1080). I am guessing that this was not released until later as Various - Absolute Beginners (The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack).
