We used to record the songs and then try to get permission. And we had a situation when we almost made a double album called “Speed of Sound” and couldn’t release it.

But luckily someone leaked it onto a torrent network. It has some of the best songs we’ve ever recorded — like R.E.M.’s “Man on the Moon,” the Ramones’ “Pet Sematary” and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” — but never officially released. So after that we decided, “First we get the permission, and then we get the studio and try to make the songs work.”
