---ele is a stepfather/stepson powered musical ensemble from Melbourne. The co-composers create instrumentals that span psychedelic, electronic and folk genres, which fuse the Dunedin Sound with Krautrock and Stravinskian harmonies. Using cast-off or uncollectible instruments and equipment, ele play a distinctively shadowy kind of avant-garde rock-and-roll that is often rhythmically offhand and harmonically prickly. Their debut release was captured on an open-reel tape recorder and is speckled with the insignia of a cut-rate studio and half-ideas; the kind of record you can only make if you’re “doing it all wrong” thoroughly.---
