Work on the "August" LP began in Moncton when Mark and i recorded 4track demos while i was home visiting in August 2003. Once back in Toronto i played with the demos until Mark came up for shows in October and we re-recorded the drums better with the 1/2" 8track. Tara's bass and vocals were added as well as several extra guitar tracks by Dallas before i moved back to Moncton in December and continued to work on 20+ songs through the winter and spring.
A couple songs were either/or picks, like "She Warms" which uses the same drum track as "Memories Of You", and "Why Ask Again" which is an alternate version of the "Where Is The End" concept. A few others included here are straight from the summer demos and "The Seed" is built on a loop of drums from "The Change" demo. "Buried" starts this album off but was actually the last song we ever recorded as a band. I've also included some of the short clips of remixed tracks that i had planned to put between the songs on the album but didn't. In the end, the album was cut down to twelve songs, we couldn't afford to do a double LP at the time so some favourites had to go. It's nice to finally collect them all together again here. Hope you dig it. - Rick
