Album Info

Release Date: 1979

Label: Waterfall Music

Original first issue cassette

Notes from inside J Card insert:
The Japanese Bamboo Flute or Shakuhachi is an end-blown vertical bamboo flute with 5 holes that can play in just about any musical environment with great diversity in color and tone on account of its open hole fingering system and oblique blowing edge. It has numerous unique qualities and textures through its design and structure that the player can bring out through carefully controlled technique.

Rarely has the Piano and Shakuhachi joined together to create a fresh, new lyrical fusion - improvising each others' musical traditions into poetry in sound.

Recorded in Maui, Hawaii, USA
