Album Info

Release Date: 1995

Label: Warner Music

This special edition of the album is limited to only 3000 copies.

Title transliterated: Foros Timis Ston Greco
Title translated: A Tribute to El Greco
Each track is referred to as "Meros" ("Movement").

This was sold exclusively at the National Art Gallery and Alexandros Soutzos Museum in Athens, Greece, which was raising funds to buy El Greco's painting "St. Peter" (circa 1590-1600).

The image on the album is a section of "Madonna and Child with St. Martina and St. Agnes" (circa 1597-1599) by El Greco.

The Digipak CD and a 127-page book written in Greek and English language, which features artwork by El Greco, were issued in large blue hard-covered velvet-textured box, with two overlapping panels on top.

The CD is hand-numbered upon 3000 copies and the CD itself is signed by Vangelis in the Greek version of his name, It appears that some of the 3000 copies were signed by the use of a stamp, and another part was directly signed in person by Vangelis. Some of the signatures are quiet the same between some copies, but different and unique for other ones. All hand-numbered and signed with gold pen.

Initial cost was 30,000 drachmas (the Greek currency prior to Euro) or US $127.
