Regarding Track C2 purportedly by Brahms, the notes quote this excerpt of a letter from Brahms to Clara Schumann: "At the present moment we are living under the shadow of the phonograph and I have had the opportunity of hearing it often and quite pleasantly. You must have read enough about this new miracle or have had it described to you. It is like being in fairyland again. To-morrow evening Dr. Fellinger will have it at his house - how agreeable it would be if you could be sitting there with us...". The notes go on to speculate that it was on this occasion that Brahms made this recording. But, who knows?
