These are considered by many to be Fats Waller's first recordings, from circa Oct 21, 1922 (4 years before his first Victor releases). However, there is evidence that was only an audition date, and that the tracks on this record were actually recorded in December 1922, at either of two sessions in which Waller accompanied Sara Martin (see Sara Martin - You Got Ev'ry Thing A Sweet Mama Needs But Me / Tain't Nobody's Bus'ness If I Do and Sara Martin - Last Go Round Blues / Mama's Got The Blues).
