"Portraits Of Goner" features five ambient pieces gathered into chunks of time to form a composite image in the listener's mind. Each track is precisely 12 minutes long, intentionally, for a full cortical immersion.
The word 'goner' refers literally to the deceased and how they figure in our consciousness. We remember their names, voices, faces, scents but never in their entirety…only in our glimpses of them. The album reflects that uncertainty of memory.
