The 2023 XXL wall calendar celebrates the 40th anniversary of "Pornography" and the 30th anniversary of "Wish" with rare and exclusive photos of The Cure from both eras.
In this issue you can read extensive background stories about the making of the two groundbreaking The Cure albums "Pornography" and "Wish". We interviewed founding member Lol Tolhurst and guitarist/keyboardist Perry Bamonte. Lol Tolhurst told us about the early days of The Cure and the creation of "Pornography" as a trio. Perry Bamonte, on the other hand, revealed some very interesting anecdotes from the band's "Wish"-formation and middle phase in the 90s.
In addition, we have a high-quality The Cure caricature that is sure to cause a few laughs, more exclusive photos and an interview with the renowned long-time The Cure cover band Four Imaginary Boys, who can also be heard on the CD supplement. On it they present 10 exquisite cover versions, 5 each of "Pornography" and of "Wish", which they recorded exclusively in the studio.
