Album Info

Release Date: 1953

Label: Bartók Records

Front cover photo depicts a view of Parliament in Budapest, Hungary, overlooking the Danube (Duna) River (really a view from Pest looking towards Buda). Bartók's Dance Suite was "written for the 50th anniversary of the unification of Pest and Buda." (And please, pronounce it Pesht, not Pest.)

Side 2, Mozart-Serly's Fantasia, is divided into three separate bands on the vinyl which are not identified on either the label or the cover. While the Fantasia is composed in F minor, on the back cover it states "For orchestra purposes it has been raised a tone to G Minor".
