For the Händel recordings a recorder by Thomas Stanesby, sen. (c. 1668-1734), pitch c. 410 Hz. for a', and a one-keyed traverse flute by his son Thomas, jun. (1692-1754), pitch c. 419 Hz. for a', were used.
