Premiere release of the score to Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" (April 26, 1954). Sold as part of the Akira Kurosawa Film Music Complete Records: First Volume (A.K.A.: Film Music of Akira Kurosawa The Complete Edition Vol. 1) box set and on its own. Includes all surviving cues transferred from 1966 copies of the original 1954 tapes (except for tracks 29, 30 and 38, which were lifted directly from the film). Music composed by Fumio Hayasaka. All music is in mono.

While the recording session dates aren't listed in the booklet, the 1954 tapes were copied on February 10, 1966. However, a webpage from Toho Music's website lists the recording session dates of April 09, 11, 14, 18 and 19, 1954 with five seven inch reels remaining.
