Against These Rocks is the debut release by Gafael, the project of sound artist Matt Ridgway from North Wales. On this release, he weaves cinematic sound tapestries aiming to illustrate a tragedy at the mouth of the Sea. Minor key melodies interlock with creeping, subtle pulses, all wrapped up in a haze of murky field recordings. Aquatic ambient music for the small hours.

All sounds by Matt Ridgway. Assorted hardware and field recordings culled from the coast of North Wales, all assembled in a home studio overlooking the Sea.
