The forgotten soundtrack to the 1983 cult horror classic Blood Mansion is finally available for purchase via Library of the Occult! This deluxe vinyl release includes an excerpted reprint of Cinefolio Monthly’s interview with original cinematographer Marlene Wynn, and both vinyl and digital purchases come with an essay by film historian Herb Shellenberger and Andromeda Graves’ original notes to the band on the unique score.The first of Andromeda Graves’ infamous Natasha Hinson film series, Victoria Hammer stars as the “perpetually stoned transsexual antiheroine” Natasha Hinson, whose inadvertent and bafflingly frequent encounters with supernatural and occult forces are met with verve and panache as she navigates her relationship with Charlotte Dodd (Roxanne Stone), a brilliantly incisive artist who acts as lover and foil to Natasha’s self-destructive antics. While the first Hinson film blends the traditional gothic ghost story with elements of early eighties slasher films, additional offerings include western-tinged monster movies and new age cult-inspired folk horror, among others.
