From the back sleeve: This release contains Gerry Mulligan’s complete original soundtrack album for the 1958 film 'I Want to Live' (released on the LP Gerry Mulligan - The Jazz Combo From "I Want To Live!"), which consisted of music composed by Johnny Mandel. Mandel’s orchestra own album with his big band version of the same music (released on Johnny Mandel - Johnny Mandel's Great Jazz Score I Want To Live!) has been added as a bonus, along with three small group songs from a later movie soundtrack (The Subterraneans) featuring Mulligan, Sheldon and Art Pepper have been added as bonus tracks.
