Side B features an 'etched' statement by Goldie (NB. It's not hand etched, it's a 'print'):

"You dream about magik as a boy. What if, what if I could really change things? Most people grow up and forget we have that ability, that power, that alchemy to transform dreams into reality, for me that dream is music and art...Metalheadz, my vision, the canvas and melting pot of ideas. The solid foundation in my life that I never had, a family of like minded people who have so much love for this "craft".

Music to me is so unconditional that it enters your heart, not your head, it touches you in a way that nothing else can, it touches the soul it is a canvas full of texture, hue and beauty, sometimes dark and melancholy, but always something we can truly reflect our lives upon. A spectrum of colour that represents our existence no matter how dark or fucked up shit is around us. Giving us the ability to transform and say what the fuck we like without exploding, or imploding. I mean, where would we be without it?

I've always had a belief, then and now, that what we make today creates tomorrow. we always knew what we did was "the craft" of this music and it may not be the cash cow of the time, playing to the hand of the ugly machine. What we created, looking back, was a template; the stamp of what this music is today. Something that cannot be equated don't get me wrong, I have nothing against commercial music, but it reminds me of where I choose to be. How I can reflect whats truly in my heart and what my warface really looks like.

I think you could take the first ten Metalheadz records and there you have it, the blueprint of what drum and bass is today, End of! Standard! The foundation, the roots of the tree. The thing is, you can follow all those branches and lay out all the artists that flowed in those different directions, from light to dark, smooth to hard, Metalheadz represented all of those "hues". The music that was internalised became born, and from it the sleight of hand "magik" that it has become today.

In the electronic era there is pure genius and the ability to witness our own power of alchemy, infinite possibilities to create all the dreams and nightmares we ever had and keep them right with us among the journey of what we call "life". To remind us of just how fragile we really are and that "music is life".
